Azores

The archipelago embraced us from the moment we arrived, and this was one hell of a journey. My friend Tiago and I visited five of these islands in ten days, exploring all we could, while getting in touch with the immensity of nature. We started in the western group, in Flores, the most untamed island we have been to. Then we sailed to Corvo, and went around the massive volcanic crater in its heart. The central group came next, starting with a short visit to Faial, where we saw the dark ashes of Capelinhos. Then we faced the most challenging and epic part of these days - the hike to Pico mountain, the highest point of Portugal. It was a four-hour climb and we stayed up there for the night, a truly memorable experience. We finished the trip in S. Jorge, among its trails filled with lush green. The serenity of this place and the character of the Azores are reasons to come back and explore, time and time again. Hope you enjoy this collection.
