Vietnam
Vietnam has long inhabited my mind, and maybe that's why when I crossed the border and entered the territory it felt like I was walking into a dream. It is a very long and narrow country, with hugely diverse landscapes which make up very distinct climate conditions. I felt really cold while biking in the mountains of the North, got soaking wet while visiting temples in the central area, and swam in the ocean engulfed by the sizzling heat of the South. Something that was present throughout the whole journey was the incredibly tasty street food, so much that it became sort of a travel partner in which I could rely on.
The cities are ran by this charming chaotic mess, and a myriad of stories and small moments happened constantly everywhere I looked. Thus, the beauty here is very much in the details, and that is one of the reasons why it is so thrilling to discover this country bit by bit. Actually, sitting on a tiny plastic stool by the road while slurping a bowl of noodles and simply watch people go by with their lives presented me with one of the best feelings I've ever had. It’s almost as if time slowed down and a hidden layer of something that connects us all briefly surfaced, maybe that’s what finding order among chaos is all about. I would say Vietname is not to be visited, but rather experienced, by taking in all the sensory gifts it provides.
